Are Keurig K-Cup holder assemblies interchangeable between models?
Partially. The K-Cup holder (the removable assembly containing the exit needle) is cross-compatible between the K-Elite, K-Classic, K-Select, and K-Compact. The K-Supreme uses a different holder due to the MultiStream head geometry — K-Elite holders will not fit the K-Supreme and vice versa. The K-Duo pod side uses the same holder as the K-Elite. Always verify model compatibility before purchasing a replacement holder.
What's the filter cartridge replacement interval for the Keurig in-reservoir filter?
Keurig recommends replacing the charcoal filter cartridge every 2 months or 60 tank refills, whichever comes first. The filter does not have a sensor — replacement is entirely calendar-based. A saturated filter does not harm the machine but stops improving water taste. Note: remove the filter during descaling cycles — the acid solution exhausts the carbon faster than normal brewing and the filter will absorb some of the descaling agent, reducing its effectiveness.
