Understanding the Classic Pro's internal layout makes every repair faster. The machine has four main subsystems: the boiler (brass, single-chamber, ~300ml capacity), the pressurestat (controls boiler temperature via pressure setpoint), the OPV (over-pressure valve, limits extraction pressure), and the 3-way solenoid valve (releases group head pressure after each shot — the characteristic hiss and drip after extraction ends).
The 3-way solenoid is a distinguishing feature from basic home espresso machines. When it works correctly, it drops puck pressure to zero after extraction, allowing the portafilter to be removed cleanly.
